My life and upbringing has been quite diverse. I was born in San Diego, California, but have spent most of my life in both the UK and Germany. The strong and constant thread that has woven itself through my life wherever I find myself is handmaking using fabric and thread.
My focus has always been on the handmade. Since 1989 I have worked as an independent hand weaver specializing in the production of traditional 17th century historical passementerie (trimmings) and have been privileged to have had several Royal Appointments including restorations for Windsor Castle, Hampton Court and Kennsington Palace. I have also had commissions from English Heritage and the National Trust as well as numerous major projects around the world.
Currently I have put embroidery at the forefront of my creative endeavours and have developed unique jewel-like guitar straps as well as fashion using free-machine embroidery.
